Course Overview

Learners gaining this qualification will understand that moving and handling must be carried out correctly and will recognise its importance in ensuring a safer working environment. Subjects covered include the reasons for safe Manual Handling, Manual Handling risk assessments, principles, types of equipment and testing requirements associated with Manual Handling.

Course Objectives

By the end of our comprehensive training course, delegates will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the risks and practical issues involved with Manual Handling and correctly use these skills in the office, commercial or industrial environment.

  • Current legislation relating to Manual Handling training.

  • Identify causes and types of injury and how to minimise them.

  • Identify situations where risk may occur due to handling.

  • Practical Manual Handling training.

  • Slips, trips and falls.

  • Accident Investigation.

  • Review & summary.

Duration

This is a half day course.

​

Certification Options

NPORS Operator Certificate / Card.

City & Guilds.

NUCO. (Level 1 = half day, Level 2 = 1 day)

In-House Certificate.

​

Please note that the maximum number of delegates for this course is between 6-10 depending on the awarding body.
