Abrasive Wheels - Hand Held Cut Off Saw

Course Overview

The aim of this Abrasive Wheels training course is to provide candidates with the basic knowledge and practical skills involved in the safe mounting and selection of Abrasive Wheels together with the practical assessment of the use of the Battery or Petrol Disc Cutters.

Course Objectives

On successful completion of the course candidates will be able to:

​

• Demonstrate a basic understanding of the industry and their roles and responsibilities as an operator.

• Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the equipment and how to operate it safely.

• Demonstrate a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook.

• Locate and identify the major components and controls of the equipment and explain their functions.

• Conduct all pre-operation checks.

• Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area.

• Select a suitable wheel, relative to the work being undertaken.

• Configure the equipment for use.

• Operate the equipment safely and efficiently.

• Safely store the equipment after use.

• Carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures.
